The Story Behind Theo Chocolate!

Everyone at Theo is driven by passion to create a positive impact through chocolate. For us, it's about more than chocolate. We believe that organic ingredients are better for people and the planet, and that fair-trade practices are essential to ensure farmers receive a living wage for their work. Everything we make and sell meets the highest organic and fair-trade standards. Our efforts are validated with rigorous third-party certifications.

We were the first organic, fair trade certified chocolate maker in North America, and we remain committed to pushing the industry forward today.

Tell us something we might not know about Theo Chocolate?

Not only do we have a chocolate factory, where we make our chocolate from scratch, but we also have a confection kitchen.

Our confection kitchen is the place we marry our passion for chocolate with pure imagination. Every delicious creation is handcrafted by our team of chocolatiers. Together, they play with new flavors and fresh ingredients, perfecting recipes and creating moments of surprise.

From the copper pots where our caramel is hand-stirred to the milk, cream and Theo chocolate that come together to form the base of our indulgent ganache, we touch every step along the way.

Do you have any knew products we should know about?

This March we not only launched our new Salted Cashew but our Honey Bee Box and Spring Tea box are back once again.

While these are not new products, our lovely designers have updated the packaging and the designs for our Honey Bee Box and Spring Tea Box and they couldn’t be more delightful. The confection box designs are inspired by the beauty of the outdoors.

The Spring Tea box features ganache infused with aromatic teas like Peach Blossom, Chai, Jasmin and Hibiscus.

The Honey Bee Box features honey from Survivor Bee, a local company dedicated to improving the health of bees through community education.

Is there anything else we should know about Theo Chocolate?

Theo Chocolate is made from scratch.

Organic & Fair Trade Certified is important to us. We work directly with the farmers and pay higher prices for better quality organic cocoa beans.

Theo invites people to discover a better world through chocolate. From the cocoa farmer in the Congo, to the truck driver in Seattle, and the chocolate lover in Philadelphia, we believe there is a thread that runs through us all. The choices we make here in Seattle touch lives across the planet in real and lasting ways. That knowledge, and that responsibility, drives us to do things in ways that contribute towards a more compassionate and enduring world.

It’s why we make our own chocolate, to ensure that everyone is treated in a way that we can be proud of and that only the highest quality ingredients and processes are used.
